Environmental Monitoring and Assessment

Environmental management professionals play a critical role in the safe and responsible governance of our environment. The importance of accurate monitoring of environmental data and assessment of predicted change sits at the heart of this diverse course, Students will develop the professional skills required for a career as an environmental scientist in this fast-growing and rapidly-changing industry.

Entry requirements

2.1 Honours degree or equivalent in a relevant subject such as environmental science, geography, biology or environmental engineering.

Course modules

Compulsory modules include: environmental impact assessment; environmental management systems; research project development; techniques for environmental researchers. Optional modules: air quality and environmental pollution; natural resource; advanced research project governance; energy resources and engineering; coastal flood defence; bioenergy; environmental monitoring and spatial analysis; coastal and maritime engineering and energy; GIS functions and their environmental applications; contemporary global environmental issues; waste resource management; systems for waste minimisations, reuse and recycling; environmental law and management.
