English Language Teaching

This course provides students with postgraduate-level study in 4 important areas of current theory and practice in applied linguistics and language teaching. The programme provides a focused route for English language professionals who wish to develop advanced knowledge and skills in the English language curriculum, pedagogy and assessment; students have the opportunity to reflect on their professional experience and update their theoretical and pedagogical knowledge.

Entry requirements

Upper 2nd Class Honours degree or equivalent; IELTS 6.5 or equivalent for international students.

Course modules

Communicative approaches to English for specific purposes (ESP); language analysis for teaching; communicative methodology in English for specific purposes (ESP) and e-learning for English language teaching; English as a world language; discourse analysis; 2nd language learning and research skills; dissertation.
