Cyber Security

There is currently a worldwide shortage of skilled practitioners in cyber security. Our MSc is specifically designed to give students a well-rounded, multidisciplinary view of the subject area, embracing not only the technical subjects, but also aspects of criminology, risk management, law and social sciences.

Entry requirements

2.1 Honours degree or equivalent in an appropriate discipline (e.g. mathematics, physics, engineering, computer science).

Course modules

Semester 1: Foundations of cyber security; implementing cyber security; software engineering and cyber security; the management of corporate security; corporate risk management processes; criminal behaviour: applied perspectives; machine learning; interdisciplinary thinking. Semester 2: cybercrime, insecurity and the dark web; secure systems; cryptography; project risk management; biometrics; data mining.
