This research training programme provides students with rigorous knowledge and understanding of the concepts, tools and methods of modern economics and their application to the analysis of economic problems.

Entry requirements

1st or 2.1 degree or equivalent in economics, finance or a related subject.

Course modules

Compulsory modules: macroeconomics; microeconomics; quantitative economics; quantitative methods or econometrics 1; topics in economic theory; topics in macroeconomics. Optional modules: economic policy in development; finance; experimental economics; industrial economics; international macroeconomics and finance; international trade; labour economics; topics in econometrics.
