Italian Studies

This degree offers students the opportunity to further their studies in Italian literature and culture. The core focuses on questions of Italian national identity from the 12th Century to the present, examined through the study of literature, cinema, and other forms of cultural expression. Students are then encouraged to take their particular interests in Italian culture further through more research focussed study, drawing on the wide historical range of specialist expertise in the Italian department. The course provides a path to further postgraduate research, as well as developing skill and knowledge useful in a variety of non-academic careers.
