A good UK Honours degree in philosophy or equivalent. Applicants with a Master's degree equivalent to the St Andrews/Stirling Philosophy Graduate Programme MLitt can apply for direct entry to the PhD. Overseas applicants whose 1st language is not English must, in addition, provide evidence of competence in written and spoken English (e.g. satisfactory British Council IELTS or TOEFL score).
Supervision available in: Moral philosophy; analytical philosophy (metaphysics, epistemology, and the philosophies of logic); language, mathematics, and mind.
PhD: Full doctoral dissertation, usually 60-80,000 words.
