Managing Environmental Change

This course delivers the knowledge and applied methodological background required to handle the impact of environmental changes on the Earth and society. The course contains a mixture of taught modules together with group and individual projects designed around solving applied geo-environmental problems.

Entry requirements

We normally require a UK 2.1 Honours degree or equivalent.

Course modules

The MSc programme will focus on broad aspects of Environmental Change and Management combining knowledge and understanding of the key issues (environmental change, risk, quality and management) with training in generic skills and modern methods of data capture and analysis. The programme will be delivered over three semesters during which the onus for learning will become increasingly student centred culminating in a self-directed project/external industry placement in the third semester. The course is relevant to the UK and international settings.

Assessment methods

Assessment is through a combination of coursework and a 15,000 word dissertation.
