Areas of research include: Pure mathematics (analysis group, algebra and combinatorics group); applied mathematics (vortex group, solar and magnetospheric theory group); statistics (statistical ecology group, statistical inference group).

Entry requirements

A good UK Honours degree or equivalent. All applicants whose 1st language is not English require satisfactory IELTS or equivalent.

Course modules

There are no compulsory modules as part of the PhD in Statistics.

Assessment methods

PhD: Assessment is by completion of an 80,000-word thesis.
