Professional Studies (English Literature)

The MA Professional Studies (English Literature) has been developed in response to new developments within further education (FE) and higher education (HE). In particular, the course focuses on challenges facing practitioners in FE institutions which are also emerging HE providers. The programme has been developed to meet the needs of practitioners who want to make the transition from FE to HE delivery and research. Students will be actively involved in rigorous and intellectually challenging research projects in order to develop a critical appreciation of the nature of HE research and delivery. The aim is to enable practitioners to reflect critically on their professional transition and dual role. It's anticipated that the resulting research project will form the basis of one or more publishable papers in the subject of English literature and/or educational practice
