Social Policy

This course will provide you with opportunities to study social policy comparatively in an international context and acquire experience in private, public and voluntary sectors linked to social policy research, development and provision, both nationally and internationally.

Entry requirements

Applicants should hold a relevant degree (includes qualifications in the social sciences, arts, humanities or the human service professions). Applicants with other degrees are assessed in terms of their knowledge and understanding of the social sciences at interview, and an appropriate reading programme prepared for them. Applications from experienced practitioners with non-traditional qualifications will be considered. Accreditation of prior experiential learning regulations will apply. IELTS 6.5 or equivalent when English is not an applicant's 1st language. Disclosure and Barring Service clearance is also required.

Course modules

Modules include: International social policy; social policy analysis; optional choice module; applied policy practice placement; researching social policy; dissertation.

Assessment methods include dissertation.
