Strategic Public Relations and Communications Management

This course equips students with the necessary practical and analytical skills for a professional career and it examines how to design, implement and evaluate public relations (PR) and programmes.

Entry requirements

A minimum of a 2nd Class Honours degree (2.1 preferred) or equivalent in a relevant subject. Applicants without these formal qualifications but with significant appropriate/relevant work/life experience are encouraged to apply. IELTS score of 6.5. with 6.0 in all bands.

Course modules

Strategic public relations planning; public relations and public communication theories and contexts; media relations; research for dissertation; public relations contexts; research and evaluation for practice; public relations and digital media; strategic public relations planning; tourism and public relations; dissertation.

Assessment methods

Assessment is based on exams, essays, case studies, presentations, practical reports and a dissertation.
