International Accounting and Finance
A minimum of a 2nd Class Honours degree (2.1 preferred) or equivalent. Applicants without these formal qualifications but with significant appropriate/relevant work/life experience are encouraged to apply. If English is not the applicant's 1st language, evidence of proficiency must be provided such as a minimum IELTS score of 6.0 (5.5 in all bands). If the applicant does not meet the required score it may be possible to register for 1 of our pre-sessional English courses. To register applicants must hold a conditional offer for a course and have an IELTS score 0.5 or 1.0 below the required standard.
Semester 1: Financial reporting; corporate finance; accounting and society; quantitative methods in finance.
Semester 2 offers a choice of either the following two modules: Research methods; financial statement analysis.
Alternatively 50 credits from either/or Accounting or Finance Grouping: Accounting grouping; topics in international accounting; advanced financial reporting; finance grouping; derivatives; investments and portfolio management; mergers and acquisitions; international corporate finance; behavioural finance; financial statement analysis
Successful completion of the taught modules leads to the award of a Postgraduate Diploma. The Master's degree is awarded on, satisfactory completion of a dissertation, following the Diploma examinations.
