The course allows you to develop key specialist skills for a career in computing. It is ideal for complementing your expertise with core computing skills. Students can get a first-hand industrial experience through placements and internships with local enterprises and organisations. Company-based projects are offered to our students where our students can work with an employer to gain valuable commercial experience.
A minimum of a 2nd Class Honours degree or equivalent in any subject other than computing or information technology related subjects. Applicants without these formal qualifications but with significant appropriate/relevant work experience are encouraged to apply.
Semester 1 modules: Principles and practice of programming; foundations of information technology; database principles and applications; interface design and the world wide web. Semester 2 modules: Decision support systems; networking and technologies for ecommerce; multimedia; object-oriented software design.
Assessment is based on a dissertation.
