This course is designed to help students work effectively as an educational psychologist with young people, teachers, parents and other professionals. This course, together with the Stage 2 Qualification in Educational Psychology, (Scotland) from the British Psychological Society (BPS), meets the requirements for registration as an educational psychologist with the Health and Care Professions Council.
Modules: frameworks for professional practice; effective communication and interpersonal skills; development in context; facilitating change; assessment and intervention; research and evaluation; professional practice.
5,000 word term-time essays (6 in total across Years 1 and 2); Year 1 and Year 2 projects (each of 15,000 words); presentations; a practice workfile; term-time assignments and problem-based learning and individual project.
