Research Methods in Psychology
This course is for those aiming to develop careers in educational or clinical psychology. It can also prepare you for further postgraduate study and enhance your applications for research assistant posts. You'll learn the skills and theory for conducting research. You'll have the opportunity to meet and discuss research with postgraduate students in the School of Psychological Sciences and Health. You'll also play a role in research with members of our academic staff. You may also have the opportunity to be employed within the School of Psychological Sciences and Health as a Graduate Teaching Assistant.
Modules: quantitative research methodology; analysing discourse and interaction; practical research skills; methods in experimental psychology; software skills.
Each taught class has its own set of assessments and these range from essays and reports to design and implementation of a computer-based experiment, a press release and an oral presentation.
