Sustainable Engineering (Architecture and Ecology)

This programme combines study in specialist, advanced engineering technologies underpinned with training in sustainability; the course examines sustainable concepts through specialist and generic taught modules and industry-relevant projects; with input from industry and a range of engineering departments, the course is a cross-discipline collaboration relevant to students seeking careers in industry and to industry staff seeking to further their professional development.

Entry requirements

Honours degree or other qualification equivalent to an Honours degree from a UK university in a relevant engineering, technology or science discipline; entry may be possible with other qualifications provided there is evidence of relevant experience and of the capacity for postgraduate study; a limited number of competitive engineering and physical sciences research studentships are available to UK and EU students.

Course modules

Semester 1: sustainability; ecology and the built environment; urban theory; energy resources and policy; design management; information management; project management. Semester 2: arcology; group project.

Individual project.
