Rehabilitation Studies in Prosthetics (and or Orthotics)

The Centre supports research and development in prosthetic and orthotic design evaluation; projects include fundamental research and clinical evaluation and development; development and evaluation of CAD/CAM methods is another area of interest, as are orthotic techniques in the management of cerebral palsy; investigations of the biomechanics of tran-femoral socket design are underway.

Entry requirements

Degree in prosthetics, orthotics, or related subject from approved institution.

Course modules

Research areas include: prosthetic and orthotic device design ad evaluation; clinical evaluation of contemporary practice; development and testing of new materials and methods used in prosthetics and orthotics; development and evaluation of computer-aided patient measurement, device design and manufacturing systems; human performance measurement in health and disease.

Assessment methods

Students must perform all coursework and course assignments satisfactorily. Some modules may require a pass in a written exam at the end of a compulsory residential.
