The course aims to provide students with a thorough understanding of the methods, techniques and tools used in engineering products; traditional and advanced computer-support techniques, such as design methods, product design techniques, finite element analysis, product visualisation, including 3 dimensional visualisation, are introduced in the course. Graduates enhance their understanding of, and skills in, design process and product development, computer aided design, rapid prototyping and model making. This course addresses recent rapidly changing market demands for better, sustainable, cheaper and personalised products developed within a range of resources constraints, such as in the shortest possible time and within available budget.
