Year 1 modules; the context of social work; human development and functioning; social work theory and practice 1; professional practice 1 (unless otherwise exempt, students are required to pass a certificate in ICT competence to progress into year 2); year 2 modules; harm, risk; care and protection; the organisational context; social work theory and practice 2; professional practice 2; placements of 85 days in each spring, summer term are provided across the statutory and voluntary sectors; in childcare; community care; criminal justice services; hospitals; health centres and day centres; residential care; prisons and special.
