Management and Leadership in Education
The course outcomes can be aligned with the nationally published Framework for Educational Leaders at four levels: project leadership; team leadership; school leadership; strategic leadership. The programme offers you the opportunity for self-development by: building on existing knowledge and skills; expanding on the range of leadership and management skills, techniques and competences; extending understanding of leadership management issues; enhancing confidence in dealing with management situations. The Management and Leadership in Education Course is part of the MEd programme.
Degree or equivalent qualification. Applicants must be a practising teacher and GTCS registered.
Compulsory: management and leadership 1; management and leadership 2; management and leadership. Elective: management and leadership; leading and managing people; managing change; managing learning and teaching; managing effective learning for all; introduction to quality and performance management; education and the law.
Work-based projects and development tasks; dissertation.
