Quantitative Finance

This course aims to provide students with a good understanding of financial theory and analysis; an appreciation of financial markets; a practical understanding of numerical methods in finance; an introduction to programming for financial applications; an understanding of the role of computers in business processes.

Entry requirements

An Honours degree, or equivalent, in accounting, economics, engineering, business studies or a subject area with a strong quantitative element would be preferred for this programme. Alternatively, applications would be welcomed from those individuals with appropriate professional qualifications, or those who can demonstrate relevant practical experience.

Course modules

Areas of study: advanced corporate finance and applications; derivatives and treasury management; financial game theory and network analysis; financial econometrics; financial stochastic processes; enterprise architectures; business analytics.

Assessment methods

Coursework and examinations.
