Tourism Marketing Management
Students are taught the principles of marketing management, marketing research, brand management and consumer behaviour alongside the management of destinations and current issues in tourism marketing. We will also ensure that you gain insights into the technical and personal skills necessary to pursue your future career in tourism.
Honours degree or equivalent qualification in a field other than tourism and hospitality is normally required; industry experience may also be taken into account when applying.
Core modules: the international hospitality and tourism industry; strategic marketing management; hospitality and tourism research (agendas and methods); semester 2: specialisation and electives choice (indicative list); food, beverage and society; tourist behaviour; the service encounter; marketing and consuming global culture; tourism planning and development; international services marketing; sports marketing in a global context; hospitality and tourism entrepreneurship; students have the option to graduate with a specialisation in marketing by taking certain electives; successful completion of the taught element of the course leads to the award of the Postgraduate Diploma; students achieving a sufficiently high pass level in all classes may proceed to undertake a dissertation for the Masters qualification.
