Human Resource Management
Excellent 1st degree or other qualification equivalent to a 1st or 2nd class Honours degree from a UK university in arts, social science or business-related discipline; students whose 1st language is not English must have an IELTS score of 7.0 or a TOEFL score of 600/250/100.
The course enables participants to secure graduate membership of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD); professional development is addressed throughout the teaching provision, the professional skills module, exercises and projects such as the placement experience and the management research report; modules are:(semester 1)HRM A; HRM core A; employee relations learning and development; people resourcing and methods of professional enquiry; professional skills development; HRM B; (semester 2); HRM core B; employee reward; one elective from: Employment issues and the law; international human resource management; monitoring the work environment; 8-week work placement in an HR setting (2 days each week from January-March) and 7,000-word management; research report.
Master's students also complete a dissertation on an approved topic.
SAAS; approximately 6 grants per year to cover fees.
