Business Administration (Human Resource Management)

This programme builds on your previous business experience and enhances your real-world management capabilities; it has a particular focus on human resource management (HRM). It prepares you for senior roles in HRM as well as general roles in management. You will develop a deep strategic understanding of the different functions within organisations. You will also learn how to re-apply the best of international management practices and how to implement approaches that deliver outstanding results. Our course focuses on problem-solving ability and linking theory to real-world challenges. As part of this, we encourage visits to local companies as well as guest lecturers who share their practical business experiences.

Entry requirements

To apply for this course you need at least a 2.2 Honours degree, plus a minimum 6 months work experience and you should be able to demonstrate your ability to operate at a managerial level. For candidates with over 5 years' experience at a managerial level but without an undergraduate degree the programme leader will review applicants based upon their suitability for the course.

Modules on this course include: Managing and leading people; operations management; marketing management; international business environment; global corporate strategy; financial management and control; information management; MBA dissertation; plus choose one optional module from a list that may include: International human resource management; organisation development and change.

Assessment methods

Assessment is mainly through the dissertation and assignments, as well as exams in some subjects.
