Drug Discovery and Development
The course covers advanced pharmaceutics, pharmaceutical analysis, drug design, pharmacology, proteomics and pharmacogenomics. You will also cover regulatory processes for medicines, in line with ICH guidelines. The course is a direct response to employers� search for postgraduates who have a mix of theoretical and practical skills and who will push boundaries in drug development.
An Honours degree (2.2 or above) in 1 of the following subject areas: pharmacology; pharmaceutical chemistry; pharmacy; biomedical sciences; or a related subject.
Modules include: Essential research and study skills; fundamentals for pharmaceutical science; the pharmaceutical research and development cycle and its regulation. Choose 4 out of the 5 following modules: Advanced pharmacology; pharmacogenomics and proteomics; advanced pharmaceutical analysis; advanced drug design; advanced pharmaceutics. Choose 1 Master's option: Double project; double dissertation; single project with single dissertation.
Assessment includes lectures, seminars, open learning, laboratory work and group work.
