Sport and Exercise Sciences

This programme provides students with a background knowledge of careers enhancing sports performance from grass roots to elite levels, developing community exercise programmes, and working as a strength and conditioning specialist.

Entry requirements

Sport-related Honours degree (2.2 or above); those who hold a non-sport related degree are considered on a case-by-case basis and may be required to submit a portfolio of evidence to demonstrate essential knowledge and experience relevant to the study of sport and exercise sciences.

Course modules

Modules include: applied research methods and data analysis; applied sport and exercise psychology; strength and conditioning in practice; research project.

Assessment methods

Assessment methods include essays, case studies, portfolios, oral presentations, scientific reports, practical exams, data analyses, critical reviews, poster presentations and a dissertation.
