The course enables students to explore practice of photography and digital imaging either as separate or combined disciplines. Students address technological; practical; and theoretical questions alongside social issues and debates enabling them to challenge and contextualise their production
An Honours degree in relevant subject; candidates with relevant work experience are encouraged to apply.
Modules include: Stage 1:photography: self-negotiated project 1, research; critical studies: revisiting photography theory. Stage 2: photography: self-negotiated project 2, portfolio; critical studies: issues in contemporary photographic practice. Stage 3: photography: exhibition; critical studies: research project.
Assessment is mainly on individual programmes of work, together with essays and reports.
