Students on this course develop the core skills of news journalism, such as writing; researching; interviews; and copy editing for news and features for print and online.
2.1 Honours degree; practical work experience; candidates with a 2.2 Honours degree are encouraged to apply.
Modules include: Stage 1: news journalism: principles and practice 1; media law; reporting and public affairs; shorthand. Stage 2: news journalism: principles and practice 2; media and society; media ethics and regulation; shorthand. Stage 3: dissertation or journalism practical project.
Assessment is based on a portfolio of work, essays and a major project or dissertation.
