Public Relations

The course helps media graduates and others gain practical skills and theoretical experience attractive to a wide range of employers; the way we communicate is changing rapidly and the study of social media is a key element of the programme; as well as learning practical techniques students are encouraged to reflect on the social and cultural implications of public relations.

Entry requirements

2.1 Honours degree; or relevant media experience.

Course modules

Modules include: Stage 1: public relations: theory and practice 1; media research; pr and marketing communications. Stage 2: public relations: theory and practice 2; social media and pr; pr and society: ethics and critical contexts. Stage 3: dissertation or practical project.

Assessment methods

Assessment by portfolio of coursework plus dissertation or practical project.
