Based in the charming town of Guildford, we are set among the countryside just outside London, and have a beautiful lakeside campus. A vibrant, safe space in which to live and learn, our friendly campus community encourages a real sense of belonging. With over 120 nationalities all playing a role in university life, you will discover a lively, dynamic atmosphere that enriches the student experience.
Once you’re here, you can reach everything on foot. Whether you’re picking up a few essentials at the Simply Fresh convenience store, Appleseed Books and Print, or heading to the launderette, you’ll never be far from where you need to be.
Surrey's student accommodation is spread across its three Guildford-based sites and is grouped in friendly communities so that you can make friends, find support and enjoy your home away from home.
The University has more than 5,000 rooms in self-catered housing to suit different budgets, and many of the available rooms have an en-suite bathroom, Wi-Fi, 24/7 security and are within walking distance to the town centre. Postgraduate students can also opt to live in accommodation independent from the University. If you choose this option, the accommodation team at Surrey will help you to search for the right place to live, at an affordable rent, throughout your time at University.
Campus is a 10-minute walk from the centre of town, with a frequent bus service running late into the night. Alive with bars, restaurants, and a huge variety of shops, you’ll quickly find something to excite you.
For the avid music fan, movie buff, or even swimmer, Guildford is home to a cinema, lido, many music venues and three theatres. The nearby Surrey Hills are also full of adventure: mountain biking, climbing and canoeing are all just a stone’s throw away.
If you’re struck by a moment of wanderlust and want to travel, Guildford is the perfect base from which to explore, with great road, rail and air connections, including being just 34-minutes outside London Waterloo.

Library and Learning Centre
The Library and Learning Centre is the academic hub of the University, sitting at the heart of our campus. In addition to the multi-million pound collections of online information resources which can be accessed seamlessly on or off campus, in the Library you can explore hundreds of thousands of books and journals as well as audio and image collections. T
The building provides a wide variety of learning spaces including silent rooms, and social and group study areas, with bookable group study rooms for collaborative working. The Library is open 24 hours a day during semester time and has long opening hours during vacations.

Our Doctoral College is developing a research environment with a cohesive community that connects supervisors, research support staff, postgraduate researchers and early career researchers across all three of the University faculties and provides outstanding support and services to all.
The Doctoral College serves as a hub, bringing together the key research services across Surrey and has also introduced new dedicated provisions to facilitate excellent supervision, deliver invaluable training and events, and enhance our postgraduate researchers’ employability skills.
Fees and financial support
Our postgraduate fees are payable for each academic year, or each stage of your programme. Students are liable to pay revised fees annually for the duration of the programme.
On certain masters’ programmes, you may need to pay for special equipment, field courses or study periods overseas, in addition to your fees. Details of these expenses may be obtained from the appropriate faculty or department.
We are committed to making sure that it offers support to students who might need it, so there are a host of bursaries and scholarships available from both the University and external providers.
