The programme is distinctive in its range of musicological, vocational and practicebased elements. All students take 2 compulsory research training modules which develop academic, writing and presentational skills, as well as providing an introduction to contemporary developments in musical practice and research.
Normally a 1st or 2.1 Honours degree, with music being a prominent part; equivalent qualifications or experience are considered; applicants whose 1st language is not English require IELTS 6.5 or above with a minimum of 6.0 in each component.
