University of Surrey
International Events Management
Applicants should normally hold a Bachelors degree (UK 2.1 or above) or equivalent qualification from a recognised British or overseas university. Relevant work experience could be an additional benefit where applicants have not reached the standard entry requirements, although it is not an admissions requirement for this particular degree programme. Higher level professional qualifications may also be accepted. Each applicant is assessed on their own merit. Students whose 1st language is not English require IELTS 6.5 or equivalent (with a minimum 6.0 in each component).
Compulsory modules: Research methods; event design and production; event services marketing; understanding the events industry; project management; event operations management; accounting and finance for business. Elective modules: Conference and exhibition management; marketing communications; event volunteer management; ethics and corporate social responsibility.
Assessment methods include unseen, time-constrained written examinations, as well as individual and group work.
