University of Surrey
Banking and Finance
Applicants should normally hold a Bachelors degree (UK 2.1 or above) or equivalent qualification from a recognised British or overseas university in a related subject (including accountancy, business administration, economics, engineering, finance, management, mathematics, physics or science). If an applicant's Bachelors degree is not in a subject related to the course, some relevant work experience would be an advantage; higher level professional qualifications may also be accepted. Each applicant is assessed on their own merit. Students whose 1st language is not English require IELTS 6.5 or equivalent (with a minimum 6.0 in each component).
Compulsory modules: Research methods; money and banking; foundations of finance; quantitative methods; corporate finance; investment analysis. Elective modules: International corporate governance; derivative securities; international finance; risk management.
Assessment methods include the completion of a dissertation.
