Information and Process Systems Engineering
This course explores the principles of knowledge management; decision-making in technical systems and business information technologies.
Candidates should be graduates with a minimum 2.2 Honours degree (or equivalent) in an engineering, science or related subject; practitioners with suitable qualifications and relevant experience in engineering, science or technology are also welcome to apply; applicants whose 1st language is not English require IELTS 6.5 or above with a minimum of 6.0 in each component.
Compulsory modules: Information security management; intelligent information systems; knowledge-based systems and artificial intelligence; optimisation and decision-making; process modelling and simulation; technology, business and research seminars. Optional modules: Advanced process control; biomass processing technology; process and energy integration; process safety and operation integrity; process systems design; supply chain management; sustainable development applications; transitions to a low carbon economy.
Assessment is usually based on combination of examinations and continuous assessment; as well as the completion of a dissertation.
Overseas students from stipulated countries can apply for a Commonwealth Shared Scholarship Scheme award (CSSS); applications must be made by April.
