A 1st- or upper 2nd-Class undergraduate Honours degree in a relevant social science or humanities subject.
In the autumn term students take 2 core modules from: Managing migration: Law, governance, politics; migrants and society: Global transformations. In the spring term students choose 2 from modules which may include: Culture and identity rights; migration, ethnicity and 'super-diversity'; migration, inequality and social change; refugees and development; trans-nationalism, diaspora and migrants' lives. You also take a research methods and professional skills module, which provides training to prepare you for further research and a professional career. This module is delivered as a series of workshops, including one that prepares you for your dissertation. In the summer term students undertake supervised work on a 10,000 word dissertation, or a dissertation with placement.
Aassessment is through a 5,000-word term papers, unseen exams, a case analysis on research methods, and a 10,000-word dissertation.
