Leadership and Management

This programme is designed to help students develop and enhance their leadership skills and knowledge through a structured online learning programme that is highly flexible and delivered by experienced practitioners. Students can choose to study individual modules for continuing professional development (CPD), or work towards the PgCert, PgDip, or full Master's degree.

Entry requirements

A 2.2 honours degree. An ordinary degree will also be considered, along with appropriate professional experience. Candidates with no formal qualifications, who can demonstrate their abilities and engage in continuing professional development, will be considered. Applicants must also be in employment (paid or voluntary), and able to draw upon your working experience in order to complete assessments.

Course modules

PgCert Core modules are leading the contemporary workforce; collaborative leadership. Option modules from which you will choose one include: information decision making; effective communication; ethical leadership; performance and partnership working in the public sector; understanding the public service context. PgDip core modules are: managing in the global network; Entra- and intra-preneurial thinking. Option modules, from which students choose 1, include: information decision making; effective communication; ethical leadership; performance and partnership working in the public sector; understanding the public service context. MSc: To achieve the award of MSc leadership and management students must complete a dissertation.

Sponsorship information

Tuition fee loans (for full-time and part-time students) and living costs loans (full-time students only) to study up to PgDip level may be available for eligible applicants from the Student Awards Agency for Scotland (SAAS)
