Careers Guidance and Development

The course combines periods of university-based study with a range of work-based learning; placements are arranged in schools, colleges, social inclusion projects and training providers; throughout the course there is a strong focus on practice-based learning, personal reflection and critical analysis of practice.

Entry requirements

Degree or similar qualification required; applications from candidates who do not possess these may also be considered, such applicants may have completed a workplace qualification such as an S/NVQ in advice and guidance.

Course modules

Modules include: career guidance 1; communication 1; career guidance 2; education and career education; semester 2: professional development; communication 2; vocational choice: theories and assessment; labour market studies.
