This course has been designed primarily for engineering and technology degree postgraduates to provide them with a more in-depth knowledge of computer-aided engineering and its applications.
Applicants will have the following for PgDip: degree in mechanical, manufacturing, design or computer-aided engineering; other equivalent professional qualifications or lesser qualifications and experience considered. For MSc: Honours degree in mechanical, manufacturing, design or computer-aided engineering.
Modules include: Computer-aided design; software quality technology; applied analysis and simulation; interpersonal skills and change management; computer-aided manufacture; option pathways: manufacturing (manufacturing systems simulation, computer-integrated manufacture, information technology project management); analysis (advanced analysis and simulation, experimental design for industry, information technology project management); quality management (strategic quality management, statistical quality control, information technology project management); web technology (web development, multimedia systems, technologies for global commerce); business (strategic management of information technology, technologies for global commerce and information technology, the learning organisation); management (information technology project management, international technology management, and professional, legal and ethical issues in information technology); multimedia (multimedia systems, learning technologies, media information processing).
