Acute and Critical Care

The programme is vocationally-relevant and complements the comprehensive critical care strategy; it is designed to ensure professionals are equipped with the skills of personnel development planning and reflective practice. Students on this programme should be employed within the areas of acute or critical care.

Entry requirements

Candidates must be appropriately registered practitioners for example, registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) or the Health Professions Council (HPC) and employed in an acute care area; students must have line management support and a clinical supervisor from their area of practice to supervise and assess clinical competency where required.

Course modules

Modules include: Clinical assessment; interventions in acute and critical care; advanced interventions for acute and critical care.
