Textiles (Contemporary Dialogues)
Research of contemporary issues, textile skills development and material investigation are fundamental to students' progress; individual practice is developed through an engagement with critical and theoretical dialogue; the course culminates in a critical report and exhibition.
A 2.1 Honours degree or a non-graduate qualification deemed appropriate for study at postgraduate level; or substantial relevant experience; other applicants also considered.
Traditional printing, dyeing and manipulation; digital printing; laser cutting, etching and engraving; water jet cutting; traditional and digital stitch; construction techniques in hand and machine knitting; metal work; needlepunching; video; printmaking; adobe illustrator; Adobe Photoshop; dedicated AVA textiles software.
Assessed by: coursework; essays; projects; presentations.
