International Tourism Management
The content covers managing and leading organisations effectively in the tourism field through the development of abilities, extension of knowledge and understanding of a wide range of management skills, ideas and theories.
Applicants must possess 1 or more of the following: A recognised Honours degree or equivalent; a professional qualification. Applicants who do not meet these criteria may be admitted to the course provided their professional or managerial experience is deemed to be appropriate. Applicants who have been awarded a diploma in business administration at distinction level, or an equivalent postgraduate, post experience management diploma at credit level 7 may be admitted with exemption from modules in part 1. International students for whom English is not a native language will be requested to provide evidence of sufficient command of spoken and written English to meet the demands of the programme in accordance with university requirements, normally at least IELTS at 6.0.
Financial management; human resource management; marketing management; strategic management; 2 pathway specific modules; international tourism contexts; contemporary issues in tourism.
Modules are assessed by coursework. This may take various forms, work-based projects, small research projects, presentations, case study analysis and the dissertation.
