The programme: provides students the opportunity to develop critical, analytical and higher order understanding of their own practice, as well as bringing a further element of critical evaluation into their subject knowledge and understanding; provides a flexible pattern of study for students who seek further professional development within the field of education; develops the capacity for students to plan and manage their own learning through identifying their own professional development needs.

Course modules

Middle leadership modules: making the most of ICT in the foundation phase; making the most of ICT at KS2; developing thinking skills with learners; mentoring trainee teachers; physical education modules: good practice in physical education; inclusive physical education and school sport; other classroom related modules: subject (or area of learning) leadership; impact of inset on classroom practice; inset as a catalyst for whole school change; practical bilingualism; teaching welsh and second language methodology in the primary sector; independent study module; dyslexia and the primary and secondary school: strategies for inclusion; promoting the distinctiveness of church schools.
