Bilingualism and Multilingualism
The degree aims to equip students with the background information and necessary skills to work confidently in the field of bilingualism/mutilingualism and language planning; the course offers a range of experiences and would appeal to anyone involved in the development of the use of language in modern society.
Honours degree (2.1 or above) in a relevant subject; relevant experience taken into consideration; each application is dealt with on an individual basis.
All years: introduction to bilingualism/multilingualism; societal bilingualism/multilingualism (political aspects of language vitality); cognitive and intellectual aspects of bilingualism/multilingualism; models of bilingual/multilingual teaching; understanding language policy and planning; research methodology.
