The course covers training in a wide variety of teaching techniques with opportunities to try ideas out in the partner schools.
A university Honours degree (or recognised equivalent), the contents of which include a substantial proportion of Welsh language; A to C passes at GCSE/O level or grade 1 CSE in English and mathematics or their equivalent; the course is taught in Welsh and applicants should be fluent; Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) enhanced disclosure.
Curriculum studies; information communications technology (ICT) in subject teaching; professional studies.
During the year the students' complete and submit coursework assignments in both their curriculum studies subject; during school placements teachers and tutors formally observe and assess a number of the students' lessons and at the end of each term the students receive a written report which summarises their progress towards meeting the required standard.
