This degree recognises the significant role that archaeology and heritage professionals play in knowledge production; in building up a portfolio of unpublished work through professional projects the student indicates a record of achievement at a high professional level.
Relevant 1st degree and at least 5 years of relevant professional experience at management level; applicants must send a curriculum vitae along with their application form.
Assessment is by the production of a portfolio accrued over the period of candidature; the portfolio will consist of written or other work (e.g. exhibition record) produced through normal professional activities; the portfolio will also require a written and referenced introduction of approximately 10,000 words explaining the context of portfolio production and a conclusion of similar length providing a reflective and critical account of the professional activities represented in the portfolio production and a conclusion of similar length providing a reflective and critical account of the professional activities represented in the portfolio.
