Greek and Latin
These programmes offer students the opportunity to focus exclusively on the acquisition and/or development of a classical language and can be started at beginners, intermediate or advanced level depending on their linguistic ability. Students take either Greek or Latin. It is not possible to include both Latin and Greek in a single Diploma or Certificate.
The entry requirement for these degrees is a 2.2 undergraduate degree. In addition, the School encourages students with an equivalent and appropriate professional qualification or significant and relevant professional experience to apply.
Beginner's Greek; intermediate Greek; advanced Greek prose; advanced Greek verse; beginner's Latin; intermediate Latin; advanced Latin prose; advanced Latin verse.
All language modules are assessed by both coursework and examinations. Students in advanced languages have the opportunity to explore texts in detail, both in literary and in linguistic terms, through assessed critical commentaries and essays
