Secondary Education (Mathematics with Information and Communications Technology)
This programme refreshes and extends students mathematical knowledge and provides opportunity to make a difference to young people's lives and aspirations.
A degree in mathematics or a subject with significant mathematical content, eg: engineering; psychology; computer science; management science; economics; an optional 6 week access course may be available during July and August to revise A-level and university level 1 mathematics for those students whose subject knowledge is a little rusty; GCSEs or equivalent in mathematics and English at grade C or above; Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) enhanced disclosure.
Curriculum studies; information communications technology (ICT) in subject teaching; professional studies.
During the year the students' complete and submit coursework assignments in both their curriculum studies subject; during school placements teachers and tutors formally observe and assess a number of the students' lessons and at the end of each term the students receive a written report which summarises their progress towards meeting the required standard.
