Cultural Policy Studies
Areas of research include: French and German cultural policy since 1945; post-war French social, cultural and intellectual history; innovative socio-cultural movements in contemporary France; cultural policy in Europe; cultural theory; theory and practice of cultural administration; cultural pessimism; management of creative and media businesses; training and employment in the cultural sector; cultural democracy and cultural citizenship; theory and practice of community arts; international film and television policy; European cable and satellite television; media regulation; impact of new technologies on media policy and practice; history of the media, in particular long-term trends; contemporary European performance and live art; cultural representation and politics of sexuality and identity; audience development; application of commercial marketing techniques in cultural sector; international marketing.
Upper 2nd Class Honours degree; MA from Centre or in other relevant discipline normally completed before progressing to doctoral work; IELTS 7.0 or TOEFL iBT 100 PTE 70 for applicants whose 1st language is not English.
