Eighteenth-Century Studies

The course examines new approaches to major themes on 18th-century Britain and Europe: Enlightenment; consumption and luxury; gender; the middling classes; culture and commerce; political radicalism; scientific and medical culture.

Entry requirements

Upper 2nd Class Honours degree or equivalent in History, or related fields; where English is not the 1st language, applicants require IELTS 7.0, TOEFL (iBT) 100 or PTE 70.

Course modules

Core module: Historical research: theory, skill and method; and write a 20000 word dissertation; 2 optional modules.
