The course allows students to construct their own taught Master's from all optional courses on offer and that are not restricted to time-period or topic; introduces a variety of historical approaches to contexts and themes, and allows students to make comparisons between different historical approaches and case studies; students choose 2 optional modules; follow the core training course (historical research: theory, skill and method); and write a 20,000 word dissertation.
Upper 2nd Class Honours degree or equivalent in history or related fields (English, sociology, art history, anthropology) normally required; English language requirements: IELTS 7.0, TOEFL (iBT) 100, PTE 70, CAE 60+ or CPE.
AHRC Research Preparation Masters Scheme; ESRC 1+3 Studentships.
